Rick and his crew were awesome! They re-sealed our school parking lot and re-striped all the lines. From the initial communication, all the way to the finished project, he was always in contact and such a pleasure to deal with. They were there when they said they would be and finished on schedule. The were very accomodating to work around our school schedule and even the kids noticed how great their school parking looked! Highly recommend Oklahoma Asphalt! Grandview School thanks you!

We recently had Oklahoma Asphalt repaint our parking lot, and they did an absolutely fantastic job! From start to finish, their team was professional, efficient, and easy to work with. The lines are sharp, clean, and perfectly laid out — our lot looks brand new! They worked quickly without cutting corners, and the finished product speaks for itself. It’s clear they take pride in their work, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. If you’re looking for a reliable, high-quality asphalt or striping crew, look no further than Oklahoma Asphalt. Frequently Asked Questions

How much does an asphalt driveway cost?
Depending on several factors such as the size of the driveway, the condition of the existing base, required excavation, and the thickness of the asphalt being installed, the best way to determine the exact price is to have an Oklahoma Asphalt representative evaluate the site and provide a detailed estimate based on the specific conditions of the project.
Yes, asphalt is generally less expensive than concrete. Because asphalt requires fewer materials and a faster installation process, it usually has a lower upfront cost. However, asphalt may require more routine maintenance over time, such as sealcoating and occasional repairs, while concrete tends to last longer with less maintenance. While we are Oklahoma Asphalt, we also provide an extensive list of concrete services, as well. Both materials have their advantages, so the best option often depends on your budget, appearance preferences, and long-term maintenance goals.
Depending on the size of the area, the condition of the pavement, and any crack repairs needed before sealing, the best way to determine the exact price is to have an Oklahoma Asphalt representative evaluate the condition of the asphalt and provide a detailed estimate.
In most cases, you can drive on new asphalt within 24 to 48 hours after installation. However, the exact time can vary depending on weather conditions, temperature, and the thickness of the asphalt. Even after it is ready for vehicles, asphalt continues to cure and harden over time. During the first few weeks, it’s best to avoid parking heavy vehicles in the same spot and to limit sharp turns that could scuff the surface.
Asphalt is typically installed when outdoor temperatures are 50°F or higher and rising. Warmer temperatures allow the asphalt to stay workable long enough to be properly spread and compacted. If the temperature is too cold, the asphalt can cool too quickly, making it difficult to achieve proper compaction and a smooth, durable surface. For the best results, most paving projects are completed during the warmer months of the year. Special considerations can be made for smaller jobs that are closer to the asphalt plant.
Yes, asphalt can be installed over concrete in certain situations. This process is known as an asphalt overlay and can be a cost-effective way to improve the appearance and function of an existing surface. However, the condition of the concrete is very important. If the concrete is severely cracked, shifting, or failing structurally, it may need to be repaired or removed before new asphalt is installed. A professional evaluation from an Oklahoma Asphalt representative can determine whether an overlay is the right solution for your project.
For most residential driveways, asphalt is typically installed at a compacted thickness of 2 to 3 inches over a properly prepared base. This thickness provides the strength and durability needed for regular vehicle traffic. For commercial parking lots or areas that support heavier vehicles, asphalt is often installed 3 to 4 inches thick or more, depending on the expected traffic and base conditions. Proper base preparation and compaction are just as important as thickness to ensure a long-lasting asphalt surface.

A properly installed asphalt surface typically lasts 15 to 20 years. The exact lifespan can vary depending on factors such as traffic levels, climate, the quality of the base, and how well the pavement is maintained. Regular maintenance—such as sealcoating, crack sealing, and timely repairs—can help extend the life of asphalt and keep it looking and performing its best for many years.

New asphalt is typically sealcoated 6 to 12 months after installation to allow the pavement time to fully cure. After that, most asphalt surfaces should be sealcoated every 2 to 3 years to maintain protection. Sealcoating helps protect asphalt from sun exposure, water penetration, oil spills, and normal wear, which can extend the life of the pavement and keep it looking fresh.
